Lindsay suffers a truth-ache
The jig is up for "One Life to Live's" Lindsay next week, when Colin tells her doting son, Will, that she's a liar and a kidnapper.
"Lindsay threatens Colin and he just loses it," says Catherine Hickland, who plays Lindsay. "He tells Will everything-everything! And that's her greatest fear, because her son is the only love she has left in her life."
Not anymore.
"Indeed," says Hickland. "He goes straight to the gallery to confront her and they have these gut-wrenching scenes. She tries to explain where she was at when she drugged Nora and helped Colin hold her hostage. She had just lost Bo and the baby, etc. She goes to hug him and he won't let her touch him. That just kills her."
Worse than losing her son's love will be the fear of her son ratting her out to the police for her many crimes.
"She asks him plain and simple, 'Are you going to turn me in?' He doesn't want to send his mother to jail, but Jessica knows something is up," she says. "So now he has to lie to the woman he loves about this huge secret. Poor Will."
And poor Lindsay?
"That's the mystique of this character," says Hickland. "You'd thikn this would be the end of her, but somehow Lindsay Rappaport manages to get out of everything. I guess losing her son's love is a great enough punishment."
When Hickland isn't lunging at people with syringes as loopy Lindsay, she is hard at work on a new makeup lone called Cat Cosmetics.
"Beauty can be so simple," she explains, "so I came up with The Cat Kit, which has everything you need including an instruction booklet. The joy for me is in reaching out to people who don't know how to use makeup and taking the guesswork out of it."
Hickland will launch her new line at a party later this month, but it's already available on the Internet (www.catcosmetics.com).
"It's great to be a woman. If you're a man, you wake up in the morning and that's as good as you're going to look all day," she cracks. "But a woman can gild the lily and my makeup will help you do it."
