Catherine Hickland Pitching "Beverly Hills Dirt"

How many times have you seen a beautiful model in a magazine ad and thought to yourself, “I’ve seen her somewhere before,” or “Isn’t she on TV?” Well, Los Angeles residents are saying that a lot these days. But fans of Texas and now CBS’ Capitol know that the lovely fresh-face blond in a recent series of cosmetic ads is none other than Catherine Hickland.

Catherine, who plays Julie Clegg McCandless on Capitol, was chosen to be the permanent model in advertisements for Beverly Hills Cosmetics, a company that manufactures all-natural facial products including “Beverly Hills Dirt.” Three different versions of the full-page ad have already appeared in several Los Angeles area weekly publications. A special poster ad featuring Catherine is also being prepared to coincide with the upcoming 1984 Olympics.

It is no accident that Catherine should be associated with cosmetics. She has long been interested in and involved with makeup professionally, and is developing her own line of cosmetic products, as well as a book on beauty and makeup in conjunction with several TV celebrities and makeup artists.

Says Catherine about her association with these ads, “I’m honored to be representing their products. After all, there’s no dirt in the world like ‘Beverly Hills Dirt.’ And, yes, I do use it myself. Stay tuned for a special top secret scent we’re introducing in 1984.”
