Forever In Her Heart

Before ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) walked down the aisle with David Hasselhoff in 1984 and Michael E. Knight (Tad, ALL MY CHILDREN) in 1992, she was briefly wed to someone who wasn’t even in show business, Richard Knowlton. “We were just kids,” she recalls of her brief union at 22, “and had no business getting married. It was a silly thing to do and I certainly wasn’t ready for it. [It was] like a ‘Well, I’ll break up with you if you don’t marry me’ kind of thing. I look at marriage so differently now.” But despite the fact that the two didn’t live happily ever after together, Hickland and Knowlton still remained very close. “We ended up being great friends,” she shares, “right up to the very end. He died from cancer about 17 years ago and I just miss him to this day. He was a terrific human being and his presence was larger than life. Oh, he was a wonderful guy!”
