ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) recently enjoyed a blast from the past when an executive producer change took place down the road at a rival soap: John Conboy, under whom she worked in the 1980’s on the half-hour sudser CAPITOL, assumed the reins at GUIDING LIGHT in early December. “May I just say that he is, without question, my favorite producer,” raves the actress, who played twins Julie Clegg and Jenny Diamond on the Washington, D.C.-based soap. “We had a terrific working relationship, and I can honestly say that my respect for that man has endured through every single year that CAPITOL has been off the air.” Perhaps Conboy’s most noteworthy calling card – the lush, glamorous look that he brought to the previously-dowdy daytime drama format – is one he honed as the first producer for THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. “John just knows how to put on an absolutely gorgeous show,” Hickland declares. “He is one of the classiest, most creative and non-compromising men that I have ever known.”
