There are many components to a successful marriage. For Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) and Michael E. Knight (Tad), who will celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary this June, the key to a lasting love is honesty. “In any relationship, telling the truth is paramount,” says Hickland. “But I also think it’s important to be frank. It’s essential that you can trust someone enough to tell you when you’re out of line or need a reality check.” Hickland explains that this policy applies to situations big and small. “Like if you’re in a store or restaurant and weren’t exactly pleasant to someone who was working there, you’d need to hear it from someone you trust. We all need that important person who can give it to us straight. Michael and I can do that for each other.”
