Making The Cut
While it’s no secret that actors often agree to alter their appearance (or not, in some cases) at the request of their soap bosses, Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) once made a major transformation all on her own. “After THE CITY was cancelled, I was looking in the mirror one day and went, ‘I need to do something,’” the daytime vet recalls. “That’s when I got my implants taken out and cut all my hair off.” Now on recurring status at ONE LIFE TO LIVE, Hickland is ready to tackle a new era, and her versatility in hairstyles over the years can help her to recreate what a “shorn Cat” looks like, if need be. “I have my pictures of me with my short hear if people want to see how I look that way.” Her advice for personally making a change for a role? “If the part is good enough, you make that judgement call when you get to it.”
THAT’S A FACT
Hickland’s first professional job was as a stewardess in National Airlines’ “Fly Me” ad campaign.
