Having worked together for years in a long-running frontburner storyline, on-screen foes Hillary B. Smith (Nora) and Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) have developed a close off-screen friendship--which includes plenty of good-natured ribbing. The actresses had the chance to showcase their lively senses of humor for the audience during the show's recent Fourth of July episode, "Trading Places." And their performances didn't stop at mocking their respective characters. As Smith portrayed Lindsay, she gave a playful not do the real-life cosmetics queen when she checked her hair in the mirror in the middle of an intense chase scene. "Lindsay never does that," laughs Hickland. But, adds Smith: "Catherine does!" Then, Hickland added, "I'm always doing that flip with my hair!" By the time they wrapped taping, the two actresses were both jazzed and exhausted. "It was the hardest show I've done since I've been here," says Hickland. "But it was also the most fun the entire cast has ever had."
