My mother told me when I was a girlina to enjoy my life, because “After 25, the years just fly by,” I thought that was just an old wives’ tale (or a mother’s tale), but dang if it isn’t true.
I truly enjoy my life, with all its dents, gaps and dings. And I intend to continue to do so by pushing the envelope as far as I can and dreaming as big as I can. One thing I have learned to do is to take care of myself. I buy myself presents as rewards for jobs well done. It doesn’t have to be anything big, but if I can afford it, I but it just to remind myself that I am worth taking care of.
Can you believe it’s a new year already? What have you done for yourself lately? Take a hot bath with a lit candle and a great book! Get your hair color done! Get a manicure! But yourself a new lip-gloss! Remember how important you are! Think great things and watch what happens.
Anybody who knows me knows that I am a candle freak. I take a bath, there’s a candle. I eat a hot dog, there’s a candle. Nothing relaxes me more than writing my goals in a journal with a candle to light my way. My current favorite candle is er’go Spectrum in pink grapefruit scent. I love soy candles because they don’t smoke, and burn slowly, lasing longer. This candle leaves a beautiful scent in the room that chills me out, and believe me, that’s not an easy thing to do.
If you want some awesome music to listen to while burning that flame, order the CD One Life, Many Voices. It is absolutely phenomenal. The cast of OLTL recorded some of the most beautiful songs ever for a blend of entertaining and relaxing music, and it’s a labor of love to benefit Hurricane Katrina relief, so you will not only be blessed-out listening to it, but your money will be going to a great cause.
For a book to start your new year right, Your Best Life Now by Joel Olsteen is life-changing, and an easy read. Just a few pages a day of this book will get you on a path of change for the better. Why not have a gentle re-entry for 2006? It could be your best year yet – if you decide it’s going to be. Remember, today’s thoughts are tomorrow’s realities! Get a head start, Beautiful!
Thank you for reading me – it’s an honor!
