Accent On...

Have you ever made a fashion faux pas? “I have to say, I don’t think I’ve had any. It’s not like I’m some fabulous dresser and get written about for my fashion knowledge. But I have a sense of my own personal style. I dress for myself and I dress the way I want to. I can’t remember ever dressing in a way that made me want to go, ‘What was I thinking?’ Haircuts, yes. Makeup, maybe. But I don’t remember ever wearing clothes where I saw pictures of myself later and went, ‘Ugh! That was a fashion don’t.’”

Which haircut? “My hair guy moved back to France for three years, so I was just getting haircuts all over the place. Anybody with a clamshell and a pair of pinking shears had their way with my hair, and I got some bad haircuts. I got some good ones and I got some terrible ones. A bad haircut can set a woman back in her mind; it’s terrible. There should be special therapy just for that.”

What is the oldest thing in your closet? “My Calvin Klein black cat-suit. It’s 11 years old; I wear it all the time. Every time I wear it, people want it and I’m beside myself because it is on its last legs. I’m probably going to have to have it remade. Maybe I’ll even call Calvin: ‘Can you make me another one of these, please?’”
