Product Queen

Greetings from my vacation at Disney World, where a not-so-funny thing happened to Product Queen. I forgot to pack my bag of tricks (my makeup!). After the shock and horror wore off, I went to the local drugstore and bought what I thought I'd need if I was stranded on a desert island

First up? Lip color.

Revlon, my favorite for consistency, colors and price, has three types of lipstick" cremes, frosts and Color Stay. I ended up buying "Naturally Nude" (creme) and "Apricot Fantasy" (frost) to apply over it. I did not care at all for the Revlon Color Stay line -- it made my lips dry and the colors were ones I wouldn't want to stay. (Not to mention that I saw the lipsticks actually shrinking in their tester tubes!)

Listen, babes: Most drugstores have testers for Revlon lipsticks, and I urge you to try many colors before you decide. Their cremes and frosts are nearly unbeatable.

Ultima II has an interesting new product called Glowtion Lip Brightener, which is really a lip conditioner that leaves your tired, pale lips with a soft, rosy glow. Girls, I would even wear this one to bed! Ultima II also as a lipstick line called Moisture Lip Color. I bought one in "Brandied Glow," a brown/red shade. I applied it lightly, and I really liked it.

Neutrogena also has a new lip color line called Lip Plush. I bought "Ginger" and was really impressed with both the quality and color. Since I put a gloss over nearly everything I wear, I road-tested Maybelline's Lip Polish (in "Flesh Light") and I dare to say that I would hold this up to any high-priced gloss out there.

On to the face.

The Ultima II Glowtion Translucent Powder was a huge disappointment. It had a pink-gold tint that made my face look like a salmon! So I washed it off and started over by simply rubbing some lip color on my cheeks and over the bridge of my nose.

I honored my babeness, On a separate subject, I told you last month that I hoped to have an exciting announcement for you. Well, that's not going to have to wait a little bit longer.

Sorry! See you next month.
