Behind the Scenes

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN: Had Catherine Hickland (Lindsay, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) not accepted the role of CAPITOL’s Julie, she might have had an extended stay at GENERAL HOSPITAL, reveals the actress. “I was John Stamos’s [ex-Blackie] college teacher, Miss Copper, but he called me ‘Coop,’ Hickland recalls of her 1983 stint. “I did, like, six episodes or something like that and then I got offered a contract on CAPITOL. I remember, [then-Executive Producer] Gloria Monty was upset with me because she had wanted me to stay [at GH], but she didn’t tell me that!” Meanwhile, during her time at GH, Hickland shared a few nights out with Stamos and Ghers Kin Shriner [Scott] and Sharon Wyatt [ex-Tiffany]. “John was hilarious. He was like an old man back then. He would want to go to bed at 9 o’clock at night. We’d all be out to dinner and he’d be like, ‘I’m tired,’ One beer and he was finished,” she laughs.
