Enemy Lines

Soap Adversaries Square Off

Formidable Foes:
Lindsay Rappaport (Catherine Hickland) and Nora Buchanan (Hillary B. Smith)

The Battle Lines Were Drawn...
long before Lindsay and Nora even met. Lindsay's hubby, Sam, carried a torch for his college sweetheart, Nora, throughout his marriage to Lindsay. When Sam and Nora reconnected in 1998, Lindsay was instantly jealous, even though she and Sam had split years earlier. Nora's grudge? Lindsay switched Bo's fertility test results, starting a chain of events that led to Bo leaving Nora...and falling for Lindsay.

Digest: What's your favorite battle scene?

Smith: The Thanksgiving food fight because we had a good time doing it and it was a wonderful opportunity to play a wide range of emotions, from incredibly cheerful to complete bewilderment when the turkey didn't cook!
Hickland: The food fight. We only had one take and my whipped cream can was broken and there was nothing I could do about it! So she creamed me!

Digest: Will Lindsay and Nora ever call a truce.
Smith: They've tried. But Lindsay can't help conniving. She's a schemer and she's got to get Nora because Nora has haunted her all her life.
Hickland: I certainly hope not. It's too much fun to watch.

Digest: What's your relationship like in real life?
Smith: We have a lot of fun. She takes pity on me, takes me home, feeds me sometimes. When we're here, we're playmates and laughmates.
Hickland: She makes me laugh. We'll go eat breakfast after rehearsal and people are always weirded out to see us sitting there having a friendly breakfast.
