Thongs for the Memories: Love scenes can be uncomfortable—particularly when actors have to don thongs, as Laurence Lau (Sam) recently learned the hard way. “They’re the most ridiculous things!” he scoffs. “The awkward part was when I had to take off my bathrobe in the middle of the makeup room and stand there with just my thong on, getting body makeup from head to toe. Catherine Hickland [Lindsay] walked up and stood right in front of me as this woman was painting my body with her little sponge. She folder her arms and cocked her head and went, ‘Mmm-hmm, Boy, will you look at that.’ What I don’t do for the love of this business.”
