Welcome, my glorious beauties!
This has been the longest winter I can remember! My poor skin has really taken a beating and I have been looking for every hydrating trick known to woman. L’Occitane makes an absolutely gorgeous night cream, Ultra Moisturizing Night Care, for those of us with super dry skin. I love it not only because it makes my face seem dewy, but also because it comes in a tin tube, which makes it great for traveling. The trick to this one is that it is 15 percent shea butter, which is super moisturizing.
This company gets a lot of my attention; like with most brands, I don’t like everything it makes, but the things I do like are absolute home runs and this is definitely one of them.
Girls, you know how excited I get when I find drugstore makeup that I like? Lipsticks are the things that I really love to find, because like most people, buying a lip-something will always get me out of the blues, and when I don’t have to spend much, it’s even better.
Prestige makes some nice products for lips. For me, the trick is always ferreting out the best colors to sex up my face without making look like a tart. Mixing color is practically an art. Geez, I’m starting to sound like someone with way too much time on my hands, but believe me, I’m not, I just love what color can do for the face (that’s why I own a cosmetics company). Lip color is the thing that most women (and some men, but that’s another column for another magazine) make the biggest mistake with. Dark colors age our faces like nobody’s business! Go with the earthy and slightly frosted colors with some pink undertones and watch what happens. It’ll take years off ya! Balance that out with slightly smoky eye makeup and you are something else, lady! Stop, drop and roll, girl, because you are gonna be on fire! My two new fave shades in the Prestige line are Cork and Lust. And if you’re going to go for some gloss, definitely go with Glaze, also made my Prestige, in its Vinyl Wear High Shine LipGloss. You can wear the gloss over lipstick for more effect, but I’m working you…this gloss has tack! It’ll last, all right…just don’t attempt to kiss anyone while you’re wearing it – you might hurt them!
See you next month!
