Product Queen

Greetings to all of my cherished babes! I am writing to you fresh from the Soap Opera Digest Awards in Los Angeles. Once again, I forgot to pack my prized body moisturizer (Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Healing Lotion), so in a pinch I ended up spending too much money buying some schmancy lotion at the hotel gift shop. !@%#$?!!!!

I wouldn't have minded the expense if the lotion was good, but it wasn't. However, after I recovered from my absolute fury, I realized that I could at least save you from foolishly spending your hard-earned gelt. Ahava is a line of spa products getting a lot of ink in the fashion magazines. I can't speak for the rest of the line, but don't bother with the Advanced Body Lotion. At $20, I not only felt as dry as a rattlesnake, but mad as one, too.

On the flip side, a few weeks ago, I ordered a gift basket for myself (I frequently send myself flowers and gifts; I even sign the card saying how special I am!) from one of my favorite Web sites, Spacadet.com. In this basket was a line of body products called Pikake. The Pikake is my favorite flower from Hawaii and all I can say about the smell and performance is…wow. Calgon may take you away, but this stuff will send you straight to Maui! I've never smelled anything so beautiful. The Silky Body Oil is exquisite. I slathered it all over my body after I dried myself off from the shower and my skin was like silk. The Pikake Soothing Bath Salts aren't a body softener, but they are soothing and the smell is so amazing you can't believe it. My husband used up so much of mine I made him order me more (With a card!) Note, however, that I don't recommend the Sparkling Body Cream because I didn't find it emollient.

Now, on to hair. Lately, my hair has been really bored; it just sits there doing nothing. This is how you know it's time to switch products, which I did. Crede, imported from Japan, transformed my studio-baked hair back into beautiful, soft locks. I cannot say enough about it. It's a bit pricey, but PQ would never write about something if she didn't think it was worth it. Be sure to let me know how you liked it (www.hickland.com).

Until next time big kiss!
