Is this the happiest time of Catherine Hickland's life? After all, her role as Tess is heating up, she's married to Michael E. Knight (Tadd, ALL MY CHILDREN) and she's winning more fans every day. According to Hickland, one thing would make her happier. "I'd like to have children," she sighs. "It just hasn't happened; I don't know what's going on. Michael and I have been trying to have a baby for a long time. I don't know what the deal is. Basically, I think we haven't hit that magic day." The actress, however, doesn't think a baby on the way would affect her Corinth storyline. "I figure it this way," she says. "I've got a year left on my contract. If I get pregnant, it's a nine-month travel. So they can either figure out if they want to deal with that, and if not, they can write me out. If they write me out, they write me out; there's nothing I can do about that. But if they can make it a part of the story and make it troublesome for another character, I think that would be really great. Unfortunately, at the rate I'm going, I'm worried that I might not ever get pregnant. That would make me real sad, but it's in God's hands, and I can't ever second-guess God's plan. We'll just have to wait and see. The second hand on my biological clock isn't just ticking; it's deafening me."
