Product Queen
Welcome, my Beauties!
Now that you’ve all picked yourselves up from the floor after reading last month’s review of Just a Drop (that column garnered more fan mail than a teen idol), I am here to present you with more products to clean you up, freshen you up and bronze you up!
You know the sad story: You’re having a lovely conversation with someone. They’re talking, you’re listening, they move a little closer and then suddenly it hits you. Their breath could knock a buzzard off an outhouse. (Why is it that people with bad breath never seem to know it?)
Dr. Dorfman of ABC’s Extreme Makeover (when they used to renovate people instead of houses) has an amazing professional line of dental products, and one is made to eradicate buzzard breath. Okay okay, so it doesn’t day that on the bottle, but BreathRx Anti-Bacterial Mouth Rinse is so fabulous that I just have to give it some props! Most breath products taste like paint thinner and don’t really do much past the first 15 minutes, but this stuff really delivers the goods, lasts all day (or night) and all with a clean, mint flavor. Next!
Hi. My name is Cat and I am a tan-aholic. I am always on the hunt for great self-tanning products to do at home. I’ve found two that I think are exceptional in value and performance. L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion is a steal in the $6.50 to $8.00 price range, and if you are looking to complete a tan in one night, Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer gives a more gradual tan and is particularly wonderful if you’re fair-skinned.
They also make one for the face! Don’t forget to exfoliate before applying self-tanner, but not with an exfoliator that contains oil. In my book, St. Ives Apricot Scrub is still the top dog and inexpensive. Don’t forget to make sure your body is completely dry before applying self-tanner unless you want to end up with more stripes than a Siegfried and Roy tiger.
Finally, if you’re in the market for new beauty products, but want reviews by real people before plunking down your hard-earned cash, check out www.megsmakeup.com. This site is entertaining, informative and just plain fun to visit. Have fun browsing there!
