Product Queen
Happy spring, my beauties! I’ve been running around like a maniac trying to get myself spring- and summer-ready. For me, that means getting my hair blonded up and finding new hair products to keep it from dying a slow death. (Those blow dries and colorings take their toll – you didn’t really think it was natural, did you? I’ve also been looking at tanning products that will save my skin from looking like fine Corinthian leather while maintaining a beautiful tan all year-round without the sun. And I am happy to report that I’ve found both.
I found hair products that are absolutely thrilling me – and at the drugstore, no less! Okay, I didn’t actually find them. My friend, Jason Low, who is a haircutter to the stars, found it and told me about it. Before he finished his sentence, I had sprinted out to buy and try for myself. Garnier is a home color product that is really good. Well! Turns out they now make shampoo and conditioner called Garnier Long & Strong and it is fantastic! Somehow, it seals split ends like magic, leaving your hair so darn nice. The most wonderful thing is that it’s SO inexpensive. Bravo to this company!
Now, on to the tanning of your hide. I am a big Mystic Tanning Booth lover (that’s the one that sprays your bod in a booth), but I often don’t have time to go there. So, Bronze Velvet is it! I admit that I bought it because of the label, which shows a woman’s tan line on a gorgeous torso, but dang if this tanner isn’t like Mystic Tan at home. It’s really good for you pale girls and even more amazing for everyone else. It’s instant color (which is a plus) and it’s a self-tanner, so it deepens as the hours go by.
Here’s my drill: I spray myself, get someone to spray my back and put on loose pjs after it dries and go to bed. But I have also sprayed myself and then gotten dressed, too. (The company is owned and created by a woman and I always support women in business!) Buy a box of latex gloves for even distribution and keeping it off the palms of your hands. If you use it on your face, spray it on a makeup sponge first and then apply it like makeup. The color is so beautiful. Don’t forget – being tan makes ya look like you dropped a few. Woohoo!
See you next month, Goddesses!
