Hello, my beauties….Now that we’re halfway through summer, it’s time to rev up those lips! Revlon has come out with a nifty new lipstick/lip gloss combo called Revlon LipGlide in an easy-to-use applicator wand. Finally, a drugstore line that has put out some sexy and realistic colors! If you’re a regular reader of the Queen, you know that I am a big fan of lighter lips. Use a lip pencil if you need one (the nudest color you can pull off), but lighten and frost those pucker-uppers and watch the years fall off your face. Many of the colors in the LipGlide wands are great – I bought the three lightest shades (#3, #5, #13) to road test. I wore them alone and mixed them together – and they were beautiful!

Getting the skin on my body nice and soft is always a challenge. I swear, some days I’m like a lizard on a hot Arizona rock. One of my students turned me on to Aveeno’s new bath line. At first, I fought trying it because the line seemed old and stodgy to me, but not being one to leave a beauty stone unturned, I finally bought a few things.

I’d like to digress for a moment here to remind you that it’s okay to ask your husband or anyone else who is able-bodied in your house to give a babe a break and watch the kids so you can lay your literal tired a—in a hot luxurious bubble/oil bath and read or meditate for a few minutes. I do it every Friday night after work. I lock myself in the bathroom and no one is allowed to bug me for 20 minutes. Of course, when I finally open the door it looks like Jumanji, what with 16 eyes staring at me. (That’s eight animals, not including my husband.) They don’t like it, but them’s the rules – it’s the only 20 minutes I have to myself all week.

Okay, so I bought Aveeno Shower & Bath Oil, put it in a bath full of water and soaked in it for a long stretch, and it was so nice! For my shower excursions, I used Aveeno Replinishing Oatmeal Body Wash, and I have to say I felt clean, buffed, and refreshed.

But, when it comes time to moisturize, I still swear by Vaseline Advanced Healing Lotion. It rates the Top Cat award every single time. You just can’t teach an old cat new tricks. >^..^<
