Hello my lovelies--I've missed you! For those of you dieting with me, I am loving your testimonials. Many of you are doing it and losing and I am so proud of you. I am doing it and losing (slowly) because my thyroid condition is thwarting me at every turn…but I will not be discouraged. Oh, no, not the Cat!
Some of you have cried foul because you're finding it too hard to do without the sugar, and the food combining is difficult for you. If that is the case, then I highly recommend Weight Watchers. I went to a meeting recently to check it out so I could report on my findings, and I liked what I saw and heard. I had to get weighed, though, and for me, a scale is like a big, hairy, pointy-toothed, loud, ugly monster. However, I loved the support group meeting idea, and the point system is fantastic. You can eat pretty much anything as long as it is within your point range. Bear in mind, though, the portions are small, and if you're a hearty eater, the Suzanne Somers diet is probably a better way to go. But go check WW out anyway, girls, because it's nice to meet others like you who want to work on it, ya know?
I also got lots of mail from former Psssssst (the dry shampoo) devotees who are also, well, pissed! Clairol is not going to make the stuff again, no matter how much I bitched about it. So, I found another company that does, and it's great. Klorane makes a fantastic spray-on dry shampoo that cleans the hair, makes it fluffy and thicker and smells good to boot! It's hard to find, so see below for the toll-free number. This same toll-free number (for thebeautycatalogue.com) also sells another great product called Le Masque Bleu, which is an eye mask (there are five in a box) that refreshes and perks up those tired peepers.
Oh! I also bought a new product (again by the fabulous Pond's people), which I thought was a real bargain considering it's…soap! Yes, that's right, it's a simple bar of soap. Now, you have to understand, I am a soap watcher, not a soap user. Soap dries my skin out too much, and I never put it on my--gasp!--face. But this one is so nice. It's just a simple bar of new Dove, enhanced with moisturizers and what seems like a little magic. So, bravo Pond's! This will work especially for you gals who have oily skin. I've used it a few nights when I've been too tired to do the whole beauty regime, and it took the makeup off without stripping my face.
Oh, gosh, we're outta space! I miss you already, but I'll be back next month.
