Beauties! In all the years I’ve been writing this column, I have never once addressed one of the most important issues regarding beauty products – your breath. Why now? So many of you are on the high-protein and low- (or no-) carbohydrate diets, and it can effect your breath dramatically.
Because I’m on a soap opera and am always in someone’s face (well, I used to always be in someone’s face … LOL!), I admit that I’m a breath freak. Let’s face it (get it?), when you kiss people for a living, you can get neurotic about your breath – at least I do. I’ve had a few co-stars who didn’t give a hoot, but I digress…
The point is that everyone should be at least a little obsessive about it because bad breath is not only isolating, it’s downright offensive. Having said that, I have the secret that will allow you to perform a bad breath-ectomy – a truly amazing product from QVC that I found while channel surfing called TriOral 12-Hour Breath Protection Rinse. You get two big bottles and a small cup, and twice a day you swish and gargle for 30 to 60 seconds. That’s it!
They say it takes two weeks to rid yourself of morning breath (and other dreaded kinds), but I noticed a big difference in just a few days. The bottles are generous for easy mixing. A couple of squirts of each one in the little cup, and voila! You are on your way to talking and kissing with confidence.
Okay, moving to the opposite end of the spectrum, I found a great drugstore shampoo and conditioner that I like to alternate with my schmancy ones. Remember what I taught you: You have to swap shampoos every few days so your hair doesn’t get bored and lay flat. Pantene Pro-V Color Revival Shampoo and Full & Thick Complete Therapy Conditioner really made nice things happen to my hair, so try them as an alternative to your current faves and watch what happens. Switching like this makes all the difference, and don’t forget to rinse your hair for a minute longer than you think you need to – this trick gets the excess product out.
