OLTL’s Hickland: “I’m Still Here!”

As we reported in the 8/31 issue, a OLTL insider confirms that contrary to online reports, Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) is not leaving anytime soon. However, the rumor still hasn’t died, and Hickland was a bit taken aback when she was asked at the annual OLTL Fan Club Luncheon if she had been dropped to recurring. “Gosh, you know what? I had a contract yesterday when I left work!” Hickland said. “I am still under contract. Rest assured, you’ll know before I do when I’m not, so I always look to the Internet for information. Am I leaving the show? As far as I know, the answer today for that would be no. If I do, all I ask is that there’s much gnashing of teeth and crying bitterly on your part [laughs]. But I’m still here.”

Later on in the luncheon, Hickland did admit, “I don’t know if I’ll be here in six months,” and said that she has missed working on certain aspects of her storyline, like Lindsay’s rivalry with Nora (Hillary B. Smith). “Hillary B. Smith and I are inseparable,” she revealed. “My husband [Michael E. Knight, Tad, AMC] thinks I’m having an affair with her. Just kidding. But we just had a scene the other day that thrilled me to death to watch me have Lindsay throw a drink in [Nora’s] face. We’ve missed working together.”
