Men have golf, football and sports cars. We have beauty products. We get off a lot cheaper knowing that when we have a rough day, sometimes just buying the right lip-gloss can make our entire day better. I probably get more mail about beauty products than just about anything, and girls, I am here to please!

I don’t know about you, but my hair and skin are just beat after this summer. I have been out foraging for some kind of beauty 911 on everything! I remember when a friend of mine did a commercial for Pantene, I commented that her hair looked so shiny that it appeared unreal. I had known the girl for years and had never seen her hair look that good. I had seen it come back from the dead right in front of my eyes. She told me that they hot-oil-treated her hair for two days prior to filming. Well! That’s all I had to hear and I was off to the races. I found two products that are just great for restoring shine and health to my “Magnificent 12.”

Phytonectar Ultra Nourishing Oil Treatment for Ultra Dry Hair is wonderful. You just apply it to dry hair, leave it in there for at least 20 minutes (or longer – put it in a ponytail on a day off) or sleep in it and really let it penetrate before washing it out. If you’re on a super budget, Alberto VO5 Hot Oil is still a great standby. Oddly, I could not find one from Pantene. Next, if you have fine, flyaway hair and want to skip a day of washing without looking gross, Bumble and bumble has come out with a new styling product that is in a spray can and is called Bumble and bumble Hair Powder. This powder in an aerosol not only soaks up the oil, but adds a bit of bulk to flat head. Double bonus!

While watching the prime-time Emmys, I was mesmerized at how glowy and bronzed everyone looked. Let’s face it – there wasn’t a real tan in the auditorium, and you can be sure they were fake-baked to the hilt, but the makeup was astonishingly gorgeous on evy star there. I know a thing or two about makeup, and if I don’t make it, believe me, I’ll find it. Giorgio Armani makes a product that I love to pieces, but it’s an expensive line, so I buy it on eBay and save almost half. Although the shade has been discontinued, Armani Fluid Sheer #10 is absolutely wonderful. It’s a golden fluid that looks 18-karat out of the bottle, but when used under or mixed with most foundations (especially mine), it gives the most gorgeous, luminous glowy finish to your face. Don’t forget – eBay it!
