Product Queen
I am so fortunate to have a job where I can go to work every day in sweats, no makeup and wet hair. The poor hunky guys on our show see us at our worst and God bless ‘em, they don’t even register it on their faces…most of the time.
So, I know I’m onto something when Michael Easton (John) says to me in morning rehearsal, “You smell so good! What is that you’re wearing?” I’m not wearing anything (well, I’m wearing my sweats) except for the shampoo and conditioner I just used on my hair. Fresh Concepts is an amazing line of hair-care products that not only delivers great results, but leaves your hair smelling like you could, well…eat it! Nothing is sexier than clean, fresh hair; it’s a flat-out turn-on for most people. I have recommended many hair-care lines over the years, but don’t forget my few, simple rules. Switch off shampoos and conditioners every four or five shampooings so your hair doesn’t get “bored” and stays perky and excited (I am not making this up!). Also, use less product than you think you need. A nickel-sized dollop ought to do it. Third, rinse for about a minute longer than you think you need to. These are my four favorite products right now: Fresh Concepts Vitamelon Daily Shampoo, Banarama Daily Conditioner, Whey Better Leave-In Spray Conditioner.
The other product I am excited about what found when I was on a trip to QVC selling my own products. Because I am on a soap and have to kiss strange men for a living (that’s okay, I have girlfriends who aren’t on soaps who kiss strange men for free), I am always on the hunt for lip color that won’t rub off on the actor leaving him looking like a tart, but leaves me with some color on my lips for the rest of the scene. (I have my pride!) Fran Wilson Cosmetics sells a kit of lip shades that are really pretty, are made with no alcohol (so they’re not drying on the lips) and look fab! There was only one shade I couldn’t wear because it was too dark for me, personally, but at this price, who cares? You can also mix the colors. I say, try this one out – two paws up!
Okay beauties, that’s all for this month! Who loves ya? I do!
