Product Queen

So many products, so little time.

Ponds has been around since the Earth was still cooling, and it does come out with great, affordable products. I'm always looking for ways to deflate my face. I wake up a puff monster more mornings than not. I have an arsenal of eye products. I told you before Andrea Eye Q pads for underneath the eye, and now Ponds has made another fun thing called Soothing Cucumber Eye Treatments. I love these, not only because of the cooling effect on my eyelids, but because it forces me to actually lie down for 10 minutes (I'm like the Road Runner-my feet never hit the ground at the same time).

Ponds also makes Cleansing and Make-up Remover Towelettes that are absolutely fab. I am a good judge of makeup remover because if something can remove my kabuki mask of TV makeup, it's gotta be good. Because my skin is dry, I love it that these wipes don't leave me with dried out skin or residue on my face.

Stila, a very nice cosmetics company, has also come out with makeup remover wipes called H2Off. But I bought them, and was so dissapointed! Not only were they not as plush as Ponds, they were expensive and not nearly as effective. Stila's packaging is more trendy, but so what? Go for the Ponds

I use a separate product to take off my eye makeup because eyes can be sensitive to chemicals and creams of any kind. This is important: How you remove your makeup is almost as important as how you put it on. My favorite eye makeup removers are Origins Well Off, Body Shop Camomille, and Lancome Effacil.

Eye makeup removers are not all created equal, so be careful. Some of them even have oil in them, which is a huge no-no because oil can irritate the eyes. Companies say they use oil so the product will remove waterproof mascara, but I don't want my girls wearing waterproof mascara anyway. I think it's too hard on the lashes. (Go buy yourself L'Oreal Le Grand Curl, non-waterproof mascara, and be done with it!)

The eye makeup removers mentioned here are also non-irritating and water-like. They'll clean off that black stuff in a jiff--no raccoon eyes for my girls!
