Terror Talk
When is the last time you thought of Ghost Town? “Actually, I just watched it. I was cleaning and I found it in a box of videotapes. I didn’t know I had it because I don’t save things. So, I popped it in the VCR.
Did you have to let out bloodcurdling screams during your audition? “I don’t remember the audition scene. I was lucky because the casting director was great and he knew people’s work; I think he knew my work from CAPITOL (ex-Julie/ex-Jenny). He brought me in and was behind me. A few weeks later I was in Arizona filming.”
But there was a lot of screaming in the movie, wasn’t there? “There’s always a lot of screaming in horror films [laughs]. But it was an incredibly physical film – I got beaten up, thrown around. I had to do lots of running and because it was a period piece, I was wearing a costume with an 80-pound bustle. And if I’m not mistaken, I made the director cry and he made me cry, too. But as an overall experience, it was very fun.”
What are your best and worst memories from filming? “The best is that the cast was really close. We shot 20-hour days. It was a very bonding experience. The worst part was that there were a lot of night shoots. Then we ran out of time and were literally shooting around the clock.”
Do you have a favorite slasher flick? “I’m not a big slasher-film fan, but I am a psychological-horror film fan. Copycat is one of my favorites. I almost had to leave the theater when I saw it – it was so intense. I’m more of an American Pie and There’s Something About Mary girl. I’d kill to do a movie like that.”
