East Coast Cover Shoot

Catherine Hickland (Lindsay, One Life to Live) may run Cat Cosmetics…but she assures all that she doesn’t look like a cover girl 24/7. “I don’t get dressed up every day, but I treat my makeup special every day,” she states. “I know how to make a face look the way it might look on a magazine cover in eight minutes or less. When you know what you are doing, you can take 10 years off your face in 10 minutes.” Busy mom Martha Byrne (Lily, As the World Turns) admits, “The only time I ever get made up like this is when I am going to an event or I am doing a photo shoot. I definitely feel more awake when I put on some makeup, but I barely get out of my pajamas when I am home with the kids.” As the photographer snapped away, Hickland quipped, “I feel like a mermaid in this dress.” Byrne admitted that sometimes she feels awkward during photo shoots. “I’m self-conscious. I’m much more comfortable in casual clothes. When I’m taking I’m very aware of what I look like and I’d rather not think about those things.”

Lunch: Byrne had a turkey, lettuce, tomato and avocado wrap with honey mustard; Hickland had a strong cup of coffee before munching on a Cobb salad.

Shoot Tunes: Z100 radio station

Byrne and Hickland compared notes on different diets – including Suzanne Somers’ Somersizing (and both were amazed by Anna Nicole Smith’s dramatic weight loss!). Byrne came from recording her upcoming CD and had a date with her husband that night. Hickland showed photos from welcoming home the 4th Infantry Division in Fort Hood, Texas, the previous week, “The guys were awesome,” she smiles.
