Soap Duo Host Cable Special

Dreams came true for a Rhode Island couple last month as Michael E. Knight (Tad, ALL MY CHILDREN) and Catherine Hickland (Tess, THE CITY) hosted their second edition of Lifetime Television's "Weddings of a Lifetime" at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Kimberly Devine and Chris Parente got married, while Kimberly's parents, Jim and Carol, renewed their vows after 25 years.

The cable network special was planned to coincide with Walt Disney World's 25th anniversary. Knight and Hickland are among several other real-life soap couples to host the show, following in the footsteps of Jack and Kristina Wagner (Peter, MELROSE PLACE and Felicia, GENERAL HOSPITAL) and John Callahan and Eva La Rue Callahan (Edmund and Maria, AMC).

Knight, who is afraid of heights, no doubt had an easier second time around. The couple first emceed the show last summer at New York's Windows On The World restaurant atop the World Trade Center.

But that didn't stop them from working with Lifetime again. "They are one of the best production teams I have ever worked with," he says. "They knew what they wanted, and they treated Catherine and I like a king and queen." Or at least like a bride and groom.
