Primetime Role

She thought she'd have a relaxing vacation in Florida after the ABC Super Soap Weekend, but Catherine Hickland (Lindsay, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) had to race back to New York City to do a guest role on LAW & ORDER. "I have to start work at 5:20 a.m. tomorrow," she says.

Hickland says the role is just made for her. "I play a character, who seems to me, is based on Tippi Hedren in a way. It's an actress who is famous, who leaves the business, and is an animal activist who owns a big game reserve," she explains.

Hickland admits that she often gets called to audition for roles, but rarely has time. This time, she knew she was going to be off, so she did it, and obviously, did it very well, because the producers called her right away to tell her she'd gotten the part.
