Get Me To the Set On Time
Catherine Hickland (Lindsay, One Life to Live) and Michael E. Knight (Tad, All My Children) have a happy marriage, but it’s not without frustrations. Take, for example, their different attitudes regarding punctuality.
“Michael is always late, and I’m neurotic [about being on time],” explains Hickland. “If we are going to the theater and he is going to cause me to be late, I will get in a cab and meet him there.”
The morning the couple taped OLTL’s Fan February episode (where Tad fell for Lindsay) was especially stressful. “I said, ‘Honey, it’s 7:15, I think we should leave; we have a 7:30 call time. Please don’t be late! Not today!’ He has a knack for knowing how many minutes it is to the studio. We got there on time, but I wanted to get there early.”
Did Hickland and Knight, who live several blocks from the studio, walk? “Are you kidding?” she laughs. “With all I have to schlep? No, I usually take a car or the bus.”
Public transportation is actually a good way for Hickland to drum up customers for her business, Cat Cosmetics. “I do my makeup on the bus,” she explains. “People are always asking, ‘Where did you get that?’ I say, ‘Let me show you.’ Then I give you a little demo and a card.”
Does she ever approach people she feels need a makeover? “I only approach them if they seem interested. I don’t want to get shot,” she laughs. “It’s New York City -- you can’t be doing that.”
