OLTL’s Hickland: Am I Fired?
Now that the cat (no pun intended) is out of the bag that Lindsay killed Spencer, Catherine Hickland is quick to quash any rumors that she’s leaving. But she admits she had some concerns herself. “The first question out of my mouth was, ‘Is that the end of me?’ just because I love the show so much and I really need to prepare myself emotionally if that was going to be it,” she explains. “and [the producers] were like, ‘Oh, no, no.’ But yeah, I was very concerned that that was going to be the end of me and I thought, ‘What a way to go.’”

Hickland says that she learned the killer’s identity four months ago, but was sworn to secrecy by Executive Producer Frank Valentini. “I am the best secret-keeper in the world,” she declares. “Frank told me back then because we were going to be shooting something in two days and they needed me to know. So I was like, ‘I’m the vault, I’ll never tell.’ I didn’t sit there and go, ‘Well, how do you get Lindsay out of this?’ I don’t need to know that. I only need to know what I’m doing today and if there’s an end result that I need to get to somewhere. Otherwise, I really enjoy the ride along with everybody else.”

For now, the actress will remain on recurring status, which is just fine with her. “Anything that’s a good acting opportunity makes me happy. So, I’m really happy,” she beams.
