Only the Bad Need Apply

One Life to Live’s Lindsay has been very unlucky in love (granted, she’s brought most of it on herself), but Catherine Hickland doesn’t cry over her character’s dateless Saturday nights. “I actually enjoy her without a love interest because it frees her up to detonate all over the place,” she laughs.

Not that Hickland doesn’t enjoy some on-screen romance every now and then. “One thing I did love about the Lindsay/Troy story is that even though he didn’t love her, you got to see another side of her, so as an actor I got to play something different from being bad all the time. People got to look insider her heart a little bit.”

Any chance of a Troy/Lindsay reunion? “Ever since Lindsay, he’s been panting and mooning over Nora. It’s like, ‘Hellooooo!’ He’s been a simpering wimpass ever since,” Hickland chuckles. “What’s so interesting about that for Lindsay? Now, if it turns out that there’s something in him that’s Colinesque or badass, then we can talk a future between those two.”
