Nuptial News: Hickland consulted the Farmer’s Almanac to pick the date to ensure lovely weather. Although the couple didn’t have the budget for the type of wedding they wanted, the actress still planned her dream wedding. To find the place, she went to a move-location company and found a mansion. The color scheme was formal black and white – the bridesmaid’s dresses matched the tuxes. The bridal party included Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki, Y&R), Melissa Gilbert’s son Cody, who was the ringbearer, and Hickland’s sister. The groom arrived late – not unusual for him. The couple’s wedding song was Marc Cohn’s “True Companion.” The favors were York Peppermint Patties (with a hand-written message on the front in icing) that were put at each place setting.
